Toronto brothers ROMES create songs from a wide web of influences from 90s grunge and hiphop to industrial and electronic, drawing comparisons to bands such as Nirvana, Nine Inch Nails and Justice. With tens of millions of streams under their belt in 2025, the duo’s sound slices through genres to arrive at a new form of alternative paving the way: SONIC TRASH the album, release: 2025, November 14.

ROMES

Siblings Jacob (lead vocals, guitar, synths) and Nicolas (drums) have spent years honing their chops and take full artistic control over everything they do, from their music production and artwork to merch design and video direction. That independence allows the duo to remain sharply focused on their vision - a project that breaks down musical and personal boundaries.

Before they were out of elementary school, the two brothers were recording demos on an 8-track mixer in their parents’ basement, experimenting with different production techniques using the limited technology available to them. Now, with an arsenal of synths and guitars, ROMES bridge glitched-out analog sounds with blistering modern production. Their evolution has led to their songs finding their way into EA Sports’ video games, major network theme songs, and global corporate campaigns, including Instagram and Abercrombie & Fitch. ROMES’ brand of genre-mashing has also led the duo to perform at Austin City Limits, play direct support to The Strokes in Toronto and to The Warning on tour.

The ROMES brothers constantly seek original production techniques which ultimately make their way into the band’s raw and energetic live show. Utilizing social media as a channel to showcase these concepts - playing drums through guitar pedal boards; triggering synths with a drum kit - has not only helped grow the duo’s Instagram followers exponentially over the last year to 73,000 but also bring noteworthy opportunities to the duo. Last year, they were asked to score and produce multiple tracks on the Call of Duty Black Ops 6 soundtrack.

Mixed by Matty Green (Weezer, The Neighbourhood), and mastered by Grammy-winner Joe LaPorta (David Bowie, Royal Blood), ROMES’ releases featured on Spotify’s New Music Friday US multiple times and their singles “Chillthefuckout.” and “WE NEED SOME HELP” were included in Spotify’s Top-20 Rock Songs in Canada, while landing the brothers their first editorial playlist cover spot.

The duo is currently recording their debut mixtape, releasing Fall 2025. The collection of songs sets to blur the lines between analog and digital - raw and modern - rock and electronic. The ROMES sound has one foot drenched in nostalgia and the other planted firmly in the future.
