The steel hull of an industrial monument has once again become the place to gather and praise unorthodox frequencies. Dive into the shadows and witness the performances of BIRTHED (Berlin), JUGENDWERKHOF (Berlin), .PK. (Berlin), SMR.TNI (Essen) and TINTIN PATRONE (Hamburg). Once again curated by Cooperfrau Melissengeist and Doubtless Guilt, hosted by the MS Stubnitz and supported by Verband für aktuelle Musik Hamburg. Steel. Frequencies. Shadows.
BIRTHED
Birthed unveils the fragility within the harsher edges of music—where room tones incorporate, and body tones are misplaced, as both constants reconfigure into a maximalist ambience.
JUGENDWERKHOF
Jugendwerkhof is a Berlin-based duo established in 2017, creating oppressive, industrial-infused harsh noise – built from feedback, scrap metal, distorted vocals, abused tapes and instruments.
.PK.
İpek Odabaşı (.PK.) is an Istanbul-born, Berlin-based sound artist, noise maker, experimental DJ, and curator. Her practice centers on experimental music, including noise and improvised performances, combining samples and field recordings with live sound produced through hardware instruments and modular digital environments for real-time synthesis, signal processing, and transformation. As part of her practice, she develops .PK., a harsh noise project built around the collision of mechanical, electronic, and fragmented sound. She is a co-founder and booker of the artist-run project space for experimental music and art Richten25 in Berlin, co-curator of the Neu Berlin Institute of Improvised Music series since 2023, one of the bookers at B.L.O. Ateliers – Kantine, and co-founder and coordinator of the A.I.D. concert series since 2014.
SMR.TNI
Power electronics as immanent self-empowerment. The music of smr.tni draws the line where pain becomes an end in itself and aesthetics degenerate into pathos. A permanent, multidisciplinary examination of biography, insight, humanity, and inhumanity. No sound without a task, no line of text without a purpose, and no frills: smr.tni’s performances are direct, intense, raw, and loud.
TINTIN PATRONE
Tintin Patrone (she/her) is a German-Filipino sound and performance artist whose musical practice is rooted in experimental trombone performance. Working with sustained tones, drone, microtonality, voice, and modular electronics, she develops long-form improvisations that unfold through subtle shifts in tuning, harmonic beating, and physical endurance. Her concerts treat breath, repetition, and instability as compositional material, allowing tension and escalation to emerge gradually rather than through dramatic gesture. Despite the formal rigor of her sonic language, her performances remain physical, playful, and unexpectedly humorous, embracing awkwardness, failure, and unpredictable encounters as essential musical qualities. She has performed internationally at festivals including Skaņu Mežs (LV), Intonal (SE), Meakusma (BE), Unsafe&Sound (AT), Lacking Sound Fest (TW), and Les Digitales (CH).
