Edizioni Lapis srl was founded in 2006 by the managerial group of the Cooperativa Arca arl that since 1990 has been editing ‘Lapis - Segnali di Suoni e Visioni’. In order to adapt the corporate structure to a better financial flexibility, Edizioni Lapis srl has began to manage the newspaper Lapis in all its aspects: the editorial section, the management of cultural information and the organization of events, branded as ‘Festa di Lapis’ and ‘Purquapa’.
The brand Purquapa – Lapisbooking has sponsored several festivals of contemporary music: Altrogiezz an international review on music; Dutch Sicilian Connection and Improvised Sicilian tour in partnership with the Dutch Embassy, GRIM scène musicale de Montévidéo, the French Cultural Centre in Palermo and Sicily, Circuiti Culturali Università di Catania, Regione Siciliana, sicilian and international operators in addition to private sponsors companies.
Since 1992 the brand Festa di Lapis has also sponsored several festivals with the participation of many Sicilian and international artists. In September 2010 was created an event that celebrated the newspaper’s 20th anniversary in partnership with Assessorato alla Cultura e Grandi Eventi del Comune di Catania and also in collaboration with Presidenza della Provincia Regionale di Catania, private Enterprises and cultural operators. Many artists have partecipated to the event:

The Sicilian newspaper has maintained commercial relations with Sicilian Enterprises, public authorities, private companies and artists in promoting and publicising their events, and also by the release of monographic editions: Lapis “ Il Supplemento” and ‘Chef Osti & Ristori’- a guide to food and beverage and ‘Catania in Movimento’- a guide to public transportation.
The website www.lapisnet.it provides news and information relating cultural events in Sicily. Since its release in September 2010 it has become paramount to people’s engagement and understanding of what’s occurring in Sicily.
